An Early 20th Century American Brass Hanukkah Menorah

About the Item

This Early 20th-century "Der Tog" Menorah rests on a dome-shaped stepped base adorned with two fierce Lions of Judah separated by laurel branches. Surmounted by a foliate saucer knopped stem that supports the eight basketweave mechanical branches which oscillate, and mounted by eight jug-shaped cups similar to clay jugs that were used in days of antiquity to store oil or wine. Center stem is crowned with a pierced encircled Star of David mounted with the servant lamp in the shape of a two-handled jug at its crest. Marked "Der Tog" in Hebrew on the lower stem.
